Wyeth Expects 30-40% Sales From Biotech Drugs

During the ongoing Reuters Biotechnology Summit, Wyeth head of research Robert Ruffalo said that biotech drugs are expected to account for about 30-40% of its sales in the next 5 to 10 years, up from its current 25%. He also mentioned that the company has about 20 biotech products in development, including drugs aimed at obesity and other metabolic conditions, and anti-depressants.
In its Annual Report of Top 10 Pharmaceutical Pipelines, R&D Directions, a magazine focusing on pharmaceutical research and development named Wyeth's pipeline as "The Strongest Primary-Care Pipeline".
...Wyeth R&D has initiated several progressive measures to spur productivity, which has grown from an average 3.3 drugs per year placed into development to 12 drugs per year for the past five years.
