WHO Confirms First Case of Human-to-Human Transmission of Avian Flu

World Health Organization confirms the first case of human-to-human transmission of bird flu, involving an Indonesianlinks boy passing on the virus to his father. WHO also notes that the virus had slightly mutated, although not in a way that would make it more transmissible or cause more severe symptoms. Nevertheless, this news will further fuel fears of the emergence of an avian flu epidemic.
