Watson Receives Personal Genome Sequence Data
Nobel laureate James Watson - co-discoverer of the DNA double helix and father of the Human Genome Project - became the first human to receive a DVD that contains data on his personal genome sequence, a $1 million, two-month collaborative project of 454 Life Sciences and the BCM Human Genome Sequencing Center.
The raw sequencing data is publicly available at the GenBank National Center for Biotechnology Information Trace Archive.
