Transgene announces updates on its clinical studies on the following therapeutic cancer vaccines:

TG4010 (MVA-MUC1-IL2) in advanced Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)
TG1042 (Ad-IFNg) in primary cutaneous lymphoma and
TG4001 (MVA-HPV-IL2) in precancerous lesions of the cervix

A randomized, open label and controlled study designed to assess the efficacy of TG4010 in combination with cisplatin and gemcitabine compared to the chemotherapy regimen alone will be conducted in several centers innFrance and other countries in Europe. The trial will enrol 140 patients with stage IIIB or IV non small-cell lung cancer and no prior systemic treatment for advanced disease. Treatment efficacy will be assessed by evaluation of progression-free survival at 6 months, response rate, time to progression and overall survival.

Final results of the 38-patient Phase I/II clinical trials of TG1042 in primary cutaneous lymphoma will be presented at the 47th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Hematology scheduled for December 10-13, 2005, in Atlanta, Georgialinks, U.S.A.

An extended Phase II trial using TG4001 in women diagnosed with pre-cancerous lesions of the cervix (cervical intraepithelial neoplasia - CIN 2/3) related to type-16 human papillomavirus (HPV16) is being conducted, designed to evaluate the efficacy of the high-dose vaccine (5.10(7) pfu) after a 6-month observation period. Final data are now expected beginning of the second quarter of 2006.
