Filed in archive Drugs, Vaccines and Therapeutics on September 30, 2005

Cellegy Pharmaceuticals, Inc announces the launch of Tostrex in Sweden by its licensee, ProStrakan Group plc. Tostrex (called Fortigel in the US), is a transdermal testosterone gel that utilizes a proprietary metered dose delivery system for the treatment of male hypogonadism.
Hypogonadism is a condition resulting from underproduction of hormones by the sex glands, or gonads. This frequently leads to reduced libido, loss of muscle mass, bone density and diminished energy levels.
Cellegy Pharmaceuticals, Inc. will be seeking approval of Tostrex in other member states of the European Union in 2006.
This website compiles updates on approval and launching of transdermal gels for hypogonadal people.

Vass, I would suggest you consult with your doctor to see if this is a suitable therapy for you. Only a medical professional owuld be able to advise.

This is a common form of application, although it most likely should supplemented with an other treatment. Of course you'd have to consult to your doctor and be prescribed on a plan before doing anything.
