Ribomed Biotech Granted $3.5M Anti-Terrorism Contract

Ribomed Biotechnologies Inc. has been granted $3.5 million in new federal grants via the US Department of Homeland Security to develop anti bio-terrorism technology. Specifically, Ribomed has been tapped to develop
- a diagnostic test for toxins and microbial pathogens in food
- a portable biowarfare detector called Handheld Isothermal Silver Standard Sensor
- a biomarker-based device to detect early stage-cancer
As prime Contractor for the Homeland Security project, Ribomed will be collaborating with several other companies, including Lucent Technologies in New Jersey; Global FIA in Washington, D.C.; Microchip Biotechnologies, Ionian Technologies and Keck Graduate Institute in California; and Northrop Grumman in Maryland.
