Firmenich Utilized Microencapsulation Technology in Duralife Omega 3
Firmenich's nutrition and health unit unveils its innovative Duralife Omega 3. In order to have a stable omega-3 capsule, Firmenich made use of microencapsulation technology which prevents the ingredient from oxidation.

Omega 3 has posed particular problems for formulators in the past since it has the tendency to develop a fishy taste and smell when oxidation occurs.

According to Firmenich, an international flavour company based in Switzerland, their product is suitable for use as additive to an array of food products such as:
  • dry and dehydrated beverage applications (sweet and savoury, hot and cold)

  • instant hot cereals

  • compressed tablets

  • fat fillings

  • and powder mixes for cakes and deserts, baby food, soups and ready meals
