Dog Genome Completely Sequenced

Geneticists from the Harvard University have fully sequences the dog's genme. Their results are published in this week's . Going through single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) inn the 2.4 billion nucleotides composing the dog's 39 chromosome pairs, the researchers outline the differences among 10 breeds of dogs. Comparative analysis with humans and rodents provides a general perspective on gene and genome evolution, and possibly provide insights on the basis of genetic diseases common to mammals.
