Filed in archive Meetings and Other Events on March 2, 2006

Former President Bill Clinton will deliver a plenary address at the BIO Annual Convention in Chicago to be held on April 9-12, 2006.

"We are honored that President Clinton will address the delegates who come from across the globe to our conference. President Clinton is a tireless advocate for many of the challenging issues that face mankind such as global health, and ending poverty and hunger in developing nations," said Jim Greenwood, president and CEO of the Biotechnology Industry Organization.

In 2000, BIO applauded President Clinton for his joint statement with British Prime Minister Tony Blair regarding gene- based patents and sharing of raw, fundamental genomic data by genetic researchers. An article is published BIOTECH Patent News, available for download from Amazon.
