An article in the December issue of the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology reviews the current treatment applications and limitations of Botox (BTX-A), aside from that which is most popular, which is it's use in aesthetic medicine. Discussed are the data on the use of Botox in
- inflammatory diseases, muscle spasticity and pain alleviation
- proctology, and as non-surgical therapy for anal fissure
- as an inhibitor of acetylcholine, substance P and glutamate, and its applicability in the treatment of various types of eczema and pruritus, and
- as a blocker of the secretion of sweat/saliva/mucus and its applications in Hailey--Hailey disease, facial eccrine hidrocystomas, salivary fistulas, and intrinsic rhinitis

Has anyone really tried this product? I am curious about it but not sure about the side effects.
