In the aftermath of the London bombings, it is comforting to know that the Fraunhofer USA's Center for Molecular Biotechnology (CMB) will host a conference that will bring together leading scientists from around the globe to update each other on advances and issues relating to Homeland Security, bio-terrorism, general health and agricultural threats.

Working around the theme, "Innovations in Mitigating Bio-threats", the conference will be held on Monday, July 18, 2005 at the Hotel DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware from 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM, and will have three distinct sessions:

* Bio-Defense: Preparedness vs. Reaction - 10:30 am
* Public Health: Working Together for Solutions - 1:30 pm
* Agricultural: Threats to the Economy and Environment - 3:30 pm

The Fraunhofer USA CMB is developing vaccines that could potentially combat bioterrorism, using plant science technology called transient gene expression.
