Biotech Companies Announcing Public Offering of Common Stocks

Renovis, Inc announced last week that it intends to file a proposed underwritten public offering of common stock amounting to 4,000,000 primary shares. Renovis is a biopharmaceutical company developing drugs to treat neurological diseases and disorders. The most advanced product candidate, Cerovive, is exclusively licensed to AstraZeneca AB and is in Phase III clinical trials for acute ischemic stroke. GTx, Inc. announced last week that it is offering to sell 5,000,000 shares of newly issued common stock. GTx is a biopharmaceutical company developing therapeutics for cancer and serious conditions related to men's health, focusing on small molecules that selectively modulate the effects of estrogens and androgens. Myogen, Inc. announced last week the pricing of an underwritten public offering of 4,675,082 shares of newly issued common stock at $23.25 per share. Myogen has two product candidates in late-stage clinical development: ambrisentan for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension and darusentan for the treatment of resistant systolic hypertension.
