Biopharma Companies Announce IPOs

Sunesis Pharmaceuticals Inc. may offer up to 6 million shares for between $9 and $11 a share. (Source: Reuters). Sunesis has three anti-cancer drug candidates, one of which is a drug candidate designated as SNS-314, whihc the company plans to file as an Investigational New Drug (IND)with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and commence clinical trials for SNS-314 in 2006.
SkinMedica, Inc. may offer up to 5.25 million shares for between $11 and $13 a share. (Source: Reuters). SkinMedica currently markets two prescription pharmaceutical products: VANIQA� for the reduction of growth of unwanted facial hair in women and EpiQuin� Micro for the treatment of hyperpigmentation.
Intarcia Therapeutics Inc. set its planned initial public offering at 5 million shares at an estimated price of $12 to $14 each (Source: Reuters). Intarcia specializes in developing and generating new uses for clinical-stage drugs licensed from major pharmaceutical companies.
SGX Pharmaceuticals Inc. (until a few days ago known as StructuralGenomix) filed to raise up to $80.5 million in an initial public offering of common stock (Sopurce: Reuters). According to the press release on their website, all shares are to be sold. SGX develops and commercializes cancer therapeutics, including Troxatyl, a novel compound for the treatment of acute myelogenous leukemia
