Amgen Gains Worldwide Rights to Biovitrum's Lead Candidate For Type 2 Diabetes

In a revised, expanded agreement, Amgen receives exclusive worldwide rights to develop and commercialize Biovitrum's drug candidate for Type 2 diabetes and related metabolic Diseases. Previously, Amgen had exclusive rights to commercialize products only in North and South America, the European Union, Australia and New Zealand.
Biovitrum's lead compound, 11beta-HSD1 enzyme inhibitors, are currently under early clinical development.
